Spurs @ Kings - Game Preview

The Kings look to extend their win streak to 5 games, as they face a heavily depleted Spurs Team. Last time out, the Kings obliterated the Nets in a team effort and scored 153 points. Hopefully, we can keep that same energy in this game.

Key #1: Limit Paint Touches:

We are facing Jakob Peoltl tonight and he is one of the best paint scorers in the league

Poeltl is currently shooting over 75% in the paint, so if we limit paint touches, he will not be able to score in the paint. And if he does get the ball in the paint, we can double him and try to trap him, so he is forced to throw the ball back out to someone like Sochan, who is not a very good 3-point shooter. And if Keldon is not playing, that makes it easier for us, cause they do not have many creators, so they might be forced to pass the ball in to Poeltl for him to kick it back out, but if we double him, it will make it harder for him to make quick decisions.

Key #2: Keep scoring at a fast pace:

The Spurs allow the most points to opponents and allow the highest FG% to opponents, so if we continue scoring and playing our game, there is no reason for us to lose this one. Fox is on a tear recently and with Monk possibly starting, we have a ton of shooting around Fox, so we can let Fox create for himself and for others on the perimeter, because the Spurs are likely to leave guys open outside and the Kings are top 10 in 3P%, so they should be able to make their open shots.

Betting Odds:

Kings are the favorites in this game (-8)

Total Points Over/Under: 236.5

Predictions:

I predict that the Kings will win

Kings 134 - Spurs 114
