According to the official EA Sports NHL24 player rating cards, Colorado Avalanche's defenseman Cale Makar gets the highest overall rating, with an impressive rating of 95. This rating places him at the top of the list of blueliners in the league. The 24-year-old star also features on the cover of the EA NHL24 video game.
Since his debut in the National Hockey League, Cale Makar has showcased his exceptional talents as he skated for the University of Massachusetts Minutemen over the course of two seasons in the NCAA. Makar came into the limelight during the 2019/20 NHL season, and he has continued his masterclass performance ever since.
The Colorado Avalanche clinched the Stanley Cup, and Makar, serving as an important part of their defense, won the Conn Smythe Trophy, recognizing him as the most valuable player in the 2022 playoffs. His extraordinary performance during his rookie season earned him the Calder Memorial Trophy, recognizing him as the league's best newbie, an award well deserved.
However, some NHL fans think he does not deserve the rating as released by EA. One said, ''Is health a stat on the NHL? I think he's 4 points too low personally.''
Another fan who is also in opposition to the rating writes, ''In reality, he should be a 90 at most.''
The 2023/24 NHL regular season is scheduled to be the 107th season of operation of the National Hockey League and will kick off on October 10, 2023. Makar is projected to show more mastery in the coming season.
